S.A.D.D. Team at WVU

On May 4th thirty students involved with the S.A.D.D. Team participated in a field trip to WVU's challenge course. The team utilized the university's low rope challenge course in team building activities. These consisted of moving a basketball suspended from a series of ropes from one cone to another, crossing a series of rocks without talking, to helping each other to cross a rope line as a team. The students that participated were all involved in some S.A.D.D. Team activity during the year or were chosen by their shop instructor.

Harrisburg Trip for SADD Students

We sent four FCCTI students from our SADD chapter to PA Youth Advocacy Day in Harrisburg on October 27, 2011.  PA Youth Advocacy Day is sponsored by PADUI, whose mission is "to address the DUI problem in all of its many stages — from prevention to enforcement up to, and including, adjudication and rehabilitation."  The 1-888-UNDER-21 banners are the result of a partnership with the Fairchance Exchange Club and will be displayed at locations in Albert Gallatin, Brownsville, Laurel Highlands, and Uniontown school districts.  For more info about PA Youth Advocacy Day contact our SADD sponsor Dan Hoff at 724-437-2721 Ext. 116.

Uniontown Halloween Parade

Our FCCTI students spent almost a week creating three fantastic floats (one placed third!) for this year's Uniontown Halloween Parade which took place on Wednesday, October 26, 2011.  The three floats our students created were to support Breast Cancer Awareness, Wounded Warriors, and St. Jude Hospital.  And our Breast Cancer Awareness took third place!  Great job students!
